BLACKBERRY MACA SEED SMOOTHIE

Sip
This combo provides a rich source of antioxidants, vitamins & minerals from the fruits & greens which work synergistically to combat inflammation. The essential fatty acids from pumpkin & flaxseeds contribute to a healthy lipid barrier, assisting in controlling excess sebum production & minimizing clogged pores.
The two varieties of seeds also promote hormonal balance, reducing the impact of androgens associated with acne development while the inclusion of maca further aids in hormone regulation, mitigating hormonal triggers for breakouts.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk

• 1 serving plant-based vanilla protein powder

• 1 cup frozen cherries

• 3/4 cup blackberries

• 1/2 tbsp pumpkin seeds

• 1/2 tbsp ground flaxseeds

• 1 tsp maca powder

• 1 cup frozen kale

• 1 cup ice

DIRECTIONS

Start by adding the unsweetened almond milk to your blender. Next, add the plant-based vanilla protein powder, frozen cherries, blackberries, and frozen kale.

Toss in the pumpkin seeds and ground flaxseeds and sprinkle in the maca powder.

Blend all the ingredients except the ice until you achieve a smooth consistency.

Once the smoothie is well blended, add the ice to the blender to help thicken the smoothie and make it cold and refreshing.

Blend briefly to incorporate the ice. Be careful not to over-blend, as you want to maintain a thick and creamy texture.

Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness if needed.

Pour the smoothie into a glass or serve as the base of a smoothie bowl.

THIS IS MY TYPICAL simple SMOOTHIE BASE RECIPE. FROM HERE, I LIKE TO SWITCH OUT THE FRUIT, SWAP THE KALE FOR EITHER BROCCOLI SPROUTS OR FROZEN CAULIFLOWER and add in other superfoods.
