BURDOCK ROOT MOCKTAIL
Burdock root has been used for centuries to treat a wide range of skin problems. Its antibacterial properties help eliminate acne-causing bacteria, while its anti-inflammatory properties reduce redness & inflammation.
INGREDIENTS
• 1/2 cup burdock root tea (brewed & cooled)
• 1/2 cup pure, 100% apple juice
• 1/2 cup sparkling water
• 1/2 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to taste)
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
• Ice cubes
DIRECTIONS
Brew 1/2 a cup of burdock root tea and chill in the fridge until ready to use. I use this brand of burdock root tea.
In a glass, combine the cooled burdock root tea, apple juice, and sparkling water.
Stir in the maple syrup to sweeten the mocktail, adjusting the sweetness to your preference (sometimes I leave out the sweetener entirely).
Serve over ice to chill the mocktail and garnish with slices of fresh lemon.
Give it a gentle stir and your burdock root mocktail is ready to be enjoyed!
I love a mocktail that i feel good about drinking — one with actual health benefits instead of just sugar water. Using tea as a base not only offers those health benefits, but also imparts layers of flavor without the added sugar.
